Christmas Day was disrupted for Americans and Canadians due to a strong snowstorm that triggered travel restrictions and power outages across North America.
In the Buffalo region of New York state, where even emergency service vehicles have become stuck in the snow, driving is now prohibited.
Flights were canceled in Canada as well, and a bus that overturned on an ice road close to Merritt killed four people.
The winter storm is reported to have caused at least 34 fatalities in the US, and thousands of people are still without electricity.
