E. Jean Carroll's court victory against Trump.

In a claim documented last November, Carroll asserted that Trump assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman changing area in Manhattan during the 1990s and afterward criticized her when he taunted and excused her case in 2022. Trump has denied all charges.

A jury in a New York City government court on Tuesday decided that Trump didn't assault Carroll yet did physically mishandle and malign her. The jury granted Carroll $5 million in punitive fees.
... Carroll, a previous Elle magazine editorialist and "Saturday Night Live" essayist, told to News that she didn't report the episode to the police many years prior since she was "excessively embarrassed" and "accused herself."In a 2022 virtual entertainment post, Trump referred to Carroll's claims as "a Fabrication and a falsehood" and said, "This lady isn't my sort!"
"I simply chose to approach and determine what occurred - - I believed that was sufficient," Carroll told the News. "And afterward he criticized me."
Carroll felt "shaken" all through the preliminary, particularly during her three days of declaration. Trump decided not to stand up.
"I was constantly shaken," she added. "However, I felt solid since I realized I was coming clean and I just adhered to it."Carroll's legal counselor, Roberta Kaplan, told News that Trump has "totally zero" reason for an appeal."He has no allure," Kaplan said, taking note that the appointed authority allowed Trump "various opportunities to arrive at that court and affirm."
"Donald Trump, similar to us all, isn't exempt from the laws that apply to everyone else," she added.
Carroll held Kaplan's "super cold" hand with expectation when the jury read the decision on Tuesday.
"It was this 5-foot-3, wily, female lawyer and this old, 79-year-old guidance writer who is, at last, expecting Donald Trump to take responsibility," she told News. "It was a particularly superb, overpowering second."
