A homicide examination is in progress after a man's body was tracked down external in a local location.
Paramedics were called to the Brigham Road area of Kenton, Newcastle, on Friday at around 20:20 GMT.
The man, who was matured in his 50s, ... was found on a lush region with facial wounds, which police said were predictable with being attacked.
He was articulated dead at the scene and his closest relative are being upheld by exceptionally prepared officials.
Witnesses or anybody with data are being approached to contact police.
Det Ch Insp Martin Creeks, of Northumbria Police, said: "We accept the man was truly attacked on Friday night and whoever was answerable for incurring those wounds has then left the scene.
"We are doing a gigantic scope of enquiries to follow anybody accepted to have been mindful."
