Shane Osborne, 45, was accused of disregard after neighbors revealed a kid in a passage conveying what they accepted to be a handgun, police said.
The capture was shot on the Program On The lookout: Live.
The show broadcasted observation ...video purportedly showing the kid playing with a weapon and in any event, pulling the trigger.
Mr Osborne at first let police know there were no weapons in the house, professing to have been feeling sick the entire day and dozing, Beech Forest Police told .
"I don't have a firearm," he tells police on the show, where Beech Woods officials are followed on shift. "I have never brought a weapon into this house, in the event that there is, it's my cousin's."
He added that he didn't understand that his child had been outside in the foyer of the lofts.
While the officials were still on the scene, a neighbor approached to the officials with reconnaissance video. The video showed the small kid in the corridor with what had all the earmarks of being a genuine gun.
Police then found the gun in Mr Osborne's loft and he was captured.
This was all circulated live on the Network program, which is communicated on the Reelz channel. Mr Osborne is expected to show up in court on Tuesday.
Beech Woods City hall leader Dennis Buckley told neighborhood station WTHR he was "humiliated" about the episode.
"Similarly as with every one of you, I'm humiliated and what occurred and I'm appreciative to such an extent that nobody was harmed, particularly the small kid.
"I value the fast move made by the Beech Woods Police Office to get the little kid and the weapon being referred to," he said.
It comes around the same time that a six-year-old understudy purportedly fired his educator with a handgun at a Virginia grade school, in what police portrayed as an "deliberate" shooting.
